CEHD Presents 2012 Scholarships to Nine Students

Nine undergraduate and graduate students were recently awarded scholarships by the College of Education and Human Development at George Mason University.
The endowed scholarships were created by generous donors who wished to create a legacy of support for deserving students pursuing a career in teaching. We thank them for their generosity.

Dr. Marjory F. Brown-Azarowicz Endowed Scholarship in Education
This scholarship is awarded annually to graduate education students in honor of Dr. Brown-Azarowicz, former professor emerita in the Graduate School of Education. The scholarship recipients in 2012 are:

- Marissa Dorsey — pursuing an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction with a Concentration in Secondary Education: History and Social Science
- Shuruq Fillo — pursuing an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction with a Concentration in English as a Second Language (FAST TRAIN)
- Eileen Oviatt — pursuing an MEd in Special Education and a Graduate Certificate in Students with Disabilities Who Access the Adapted Curriculum
- Jamie Rogan — pursuing an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction with a Concentration in English as a Second Language
- Joy Watson — pursuing an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction with a Concentration in English as a Second Language (FAST TRAIN)
Wen Pei Wu Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes academic achievement and is granted to an undergraduate or graduate student who is pursuing an initial teaching license. The scholarship recipient in 2012 is:
- Cheryl Ellsmore — pursuing an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction with a Concentration in Early Childhood Education for Diverse Learners
Annandale Woman's Club Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is granted to female residents of Northern Virginia who are in their final year of studies before obtaining a degree or licensure in education.
- Karlyn Lockie — pursuing a BSEd in Physical Education
- Kailyn Lockie — pursuing a BSEd in Physical Education
- Margaret Malkasian — pursuing a BSEd in Physical Education
