The School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism (SRHT) offers exciting, career-ready majors in dynamic fields such as athletic training, tourism and events management, health and physical education, kinesiology, sport management, and recreation management. SRHT features renowned faculty, cutting-edge research, six laboratories and centers, and a diverse student body of more than 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students each year. Each major requires one or more internship or clinical experiences, ensuring that students graduate not just with a transcript but with a resume that demonstrates their professional aptitude and skills.

Credit hours: 3


Provides 120 hours of introductory supervised professional fieldwork experience in an approved tourism, events, or hospitality management setting for 10 to 14 weeks (10 weeks only for the Summer term) under the supervision of a practicum Faculty Supervisor and Agency Supervisor. Includes meetings and assignments before, during, and after the practicum. Notes: Students must complete the mandatory pre-experience orientation session online before registering for this course. Hourly requirement per week is 15-20 for Summer term. Offered by Recreation, Health & Tourism. Limited to three attempts.
Registration Restrictions:

Required Prerequisites: TOUR 200D, 220D and 230D.
D Requires minimum grade of D.

Students with a class of Freshman may not enroll.

Enrollment is limited to students with a major in Tourism and Events Management.
