Profile
Mrs. Jones is the Fieldwork Experience Coordinator for the Tourism and Events Management Program. In this role she fosters relationships with industry partners and assists students with securing site placements. She began teaching at George Mason in 2006 as an adjunct professor in the Tourism and Events Management program and then became a full-time term faculty member in 2014. Mrs. Jones has 14 years of experience working for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission, in the Department of Parks and Recreation as a facility director and program specialist. In this position, she managed facility operations, supervised staff, designed and implemented a variety of community special events, recreational and educational classes and sports leagues. Mrs. Jones regularly teaches both face to face and online courses in Introduction to Events Management, Professionalism and Civility, Career Preparation, Wedding Planning and Management, Internship and Practicum. She currently serves on the Celebrate Fairfax Board of Directors.
