Profile
Dr. Carney is a term Assistant Professor and the Clinical Coordinator for the Counseling and Development Program. She has been with George Mason University since 2015. Dr. Carney has worked in a variety of clinical settings for over the past 15 years and worked extensively with individuals and groups who struggle with eating disorders, substance abuse, trauma, and other mental health concerns. Her professional interests in higher education include student development, clinical supervision, and wellness. In her role as a faculty member at GMU she manages all field experiences for school and clinical mental health counseling students, as well as teaches Advanced Counseling Skills, Assessment and Appraisal, Substance Abuse, Practicum, and Internship.
