Melissa Chabot is a PhD student in Education at George Mason University as well as the Employment and Community Involvement Coordinator for the Mason LIFE program. She previously served as an associate professor of Communication Studies at a community college for many years. Her professional philosophy emphasizes inclusion, accessibility, and Universal Design for Learning to support all learners. She is dedicated to removing barriers and designing flexible, inclusive learning environments. Her research focuses on improving employment outcomes for students with disabilities.
Melissa earned her BS in Business Administration from Bay Path University, MA in Communication Science from the University of Connecticut, a graduate certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders, and an MEd in Special Education from George Mason University. She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and two children.
