Lisa A. Giacumo, Ph. D., is a tenur track associate professor of Learning Design and Technology at George Mason University. Her research and teaching interests include diversity, equity, and inclusion, design to support global and cross-cultural workplace learning needs, learning analytics, learner experience design (LXD), the use of technology for workplace learning and performance improvement, and the preparation of instructional designers. She has worked internationally as an instructional designer, trainer, and manager for businesses, universities, non-profits, and NGOs. She was also a Fellow of the US Office of Naval Research in 2022. In her 25 years of practitioner and consulting experience, she has served as a mentor, coach, conducted program evaluations, needs assessments, process improvement, and design workshops, along with training, faciliation, instructional design, and curriculum development.
Diversity, equity, and inclusion, organizational justice, design to support global and cross-cultural workplace learning needs, learning analytics, learner experience design (LXD), the use of technology for workplace learning and performance improvement, mentoring systems, and the preparation of instructional designers. Also, I enjoy working on applied organizational research projects such as needs assessments, evaluations, and process design or redesign.
