Dr. Michelle Séki, obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Education with a specialization in Educational Psychology and a secondary emphasis in Higher Education from George Mason University. She is a Double Patriot, and also earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education from Mason. Lastly, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Mary Washington. Dr. Séki serves as the Senior Advisor for the School of Sport, Recreation, and Tourism Management. Her primary advising areas include Tourism & Events Management and Sport Management. She has a passion for guiding students through the collegiate experience and she strives to create an environment which promotes self-efficacy, self-regulation, and student success. Dr. Séki was awarded as the Mason Academic Advisor of the Year in 2019, and has received advising excellence awards since 2016. She is also interested in research pertaining to the relationships between faculty-student interactions, sense of belonging, self-efficacy, self-regulation, and academic achievement.
