Jessica Guzzo is the Executive Director of Research and Business Operations for the George Mason University (GMU) College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). Guzzo has worked in higher education finance, business and research administration leadership and management positions for the last two decades.  Prior to her current role she served as the college's Senior Director of Research Administration (2024-2021), Director of Research Administration (2020-2016) and Director of Post-Award Services (2015-2013). Guzzo also served as the Director of Finance and Business for North Carolina State University’s Friday Institute for Educational Innovation and the Director of Sponsored Programs for the College of William & Mary’s Virginia Institute of Marine Science. While at NC State, she worked with key stakeholders to build the Friday Institute Business Office. At GMU, Guzzo has worked collaboratively with stakeholders, partners and teammates to build the CEHD Office of Research Administration in 2017 that was recently merged with the college's Office of Research Development to create the new CEHD Office of Research in 2024. Guzzo is a Certified Research Administrator (CRA), Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator (CPRA) and a Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA) and has a BA from Old Dominion University. She is also actively involved with the National Council of University Research Administrators (NCURA) and the Society of Research Administrators International (SRAI) and is currently serving as the Chair of the SRAI Virginia Special Interest Group for 2024-2025.
