To transform teaching, we are working with partners to strengthen a continuum within teaching that leads from pre-service teacher preparation to accomplished practice, then to a variety of leadership roles within the profession.
The College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at George Mason University partners with the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards to offer graduate credit to teachers who complete National Board Certification.
There are two possible options for NBCT Achievement graduate credits:
- 6 graduate credits ($1000.00) for National Board Achievement
- 3 graduate credits ($500.00) for Renewal
One may receive a maximum of six (6) graduate credits at George Mason for NBCT Achievement.
To register at George Mason for NB Achievement graduate credits, please complete the enrollment form and submit your payment using the link below. You will need to upload a copy of your NB Certificate with your enrollment form.
For National Board payments made by schools or another third party, please contact our office to receive information about invoicing and third-party billing.
Enrollment deadlines are May 1st for spring, July 20th for summer, and December 1st for fall. Forms received after the deadline will be applied to the next semester.
Once all documentation is received, you will be formally registered for the graduate credit course. You will receive an email with news that the credits have been awarded, and directions will be given for how to download and/or print a transcript reflecting the credits. Please do not request a transcript until you have received confirmation of enrollment and your grade from George Mason University.
