Fundamental concepts and theories for appropriate use of geographic information systems (GIS). Topics include social and cultural contexts of the use of geographic information, sources of digital geospatial data, and methods of input, storage, display, and processing of spatial data for geographic analysis using GIS. Lectures, hands-on exercises familiarize students with current technology.Offered by Geography/Geoinformation Sci. Limited to three attempts.
