Description:

Examines revolutions in transformation of 20th-century Western dance into forms and institutions that radically departed from predecessors. Development of contemporary dance carried with it reflections of the influence of technology and media as well as concept of global culture. Renewed interest in traditional dance forms acknowledges power of dance to serve as carrier of cultural and societal values. Dance forms placed in social, political, cultural, aesthetic, and historical contexts. Offered by School of Dance. Limited to three attempts.
