Description:
Examines dance as it developed as Western theatrical form from its beginnings in social and folk dance through evolution into ballet. Emphasizes romantic and classical ballet. Also studies American dance forms as they evolved in spectacles, burlesques, minstrelsy, and social dance. All forms of dance placed in social, political, cultural, aesthetic, and historical contexts. Offered by School of Dance. Limited to three attempts.
