EdPolicyForward: the Center for Education Policy at George Mason University will hold its second research workshop of the Fall 2026 semester with Brendan Cantwell. He is Professor, Associate Chair in the Department of Educational Administration, and current occupant of the Dr. Mildred B. Erickson Distinguished Chair in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education at Michigan State University. His research interest is in the political economy of higher education and addresses topics including organization, governance, and policy in the United States and comparatively. His research has appeared in numerous journals including The Journal of Higher Education, Review of Higher Education, and Research in Higher Education. Brendan is co-editor of four books, and co-author of two, including The Postliberal University (Harvard Education Press).. The title of Brendan Cantwell’s talk is Postliberal Governance in US higher Education.
