Morning Movement (9:00 a.m. – 9:20 a.m.)
Start the day by investing in your well-being. This 20-minute session introduces simple, very low-impact movements designed for the workplace - activities you can do in your office, between meetings, or during a short break. The session demonstrates how small, intentional moments of movement can boost energy, reduce stress, and sharpen focus throughout the day - whether your work involves teaching, advising students, managing programs, or supporting the daily operations of the college.
Speaker Session (9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.)
Format A: Speaker Series
This motivational TED-talk style explores how passion can fuel meaningful and impactful careers in higher education. Centered on the idea that “Your passion can be your profession,” the speaker will share personal insights and experiences that shaped their professional journey in CEHD. Whether through teaching, research, student support, program leadership, or operational excellence, the talk highlights how curiosity, purpose, and dedication can transform everyday work into a powerful source of inspiration and impact for students, colleagues, and communities. Coaching and materials are available to potential speakers.
Format B: Lightning Talks
This session will feature a series of short Lightning Talks from CEHD faculty and staff centered on the theme “The Work Behind the Mission.” Faculty and staff are invited to propose a session consisting of five‑minute lightning talks that highlights how their work - whether in teaching, advising, research, program leadership, student support, or operational roles - contributes to and sustains CEHD’s mission and culture. Together, these talks will celebrate the many visible and behind‑the‑scenes ways members of the CEHD community advance our shared values. Learn more about CEHD’s mission and culture on our website.
Format C: PechaKucha Presentation
PechaKucha is a fast-paced, highly visual presentation format designed to spark ideas, highlight experiences, and encourage concise storytelling. Each presenter shares 20 slides, shown for 20 seconds each, for a total presentation time of 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Slides advance automatically and typically feature images rather than text, keeping the focus on storytelling and big-picture insights rather than dense data or long explanations. This format is ideal for faculty and staff who want to briefly share impactful work, innovative practices, or meaningful professional experiences in an engaging and accessible way. PechaKucha sessions emphasize clarity, creativity, and reflection - making them perfect for showcasing ideas that can inspire conversation and collaboration across campus. See the PechaKucha wesbite for more information and examples.
Professional Development Sessions (10:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.)
Faculty and staff will choose from a variety of professional development sessions designed to share knowledge, strategies, and experiences across CEHD. These sessions highlight the expertise within our own community and provide practical ideas that participants can immediately apply in their work - whether supporting students, managing programs, advancing research, strengthening collaboration, or enhancing teaching and learning. Sessions may be offered as interactive workshops or panel-style presentations, and most include time for audience questions and discussion, allowing participants to engage directly with presenters and colleagues. Faculty and staff will gain practical strategies and new perspectives that can support their work and contribute to the continued success of our CEHD community.
