Event: Speed Chatting for Researchers

Date: Feb 17, 2026

Time: 2:00pm - 3:45pm

Description:

The Office of Research, Office for Faculty Success, and CEHD Professional Engagement Committee are excited to invite you to the CEHD Speed Chatting for Researchers event on February 17 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

What is it?

An opportunity for you to get to know your colleagues and learn about their research interests and expertise in an organized way.

How will it work?

You will have an organized opportunity to talk with participating faculty by starting with one person and rotating to next person on the signal of the facilitator. When the facilitator rings an alarm, you move to the next speed chat. The time spent on each chat will depend on the number of participants, but will likely be about 10 minutes.

What will we talk about?

In advance of the session, we will ask you to share some information about your research interests and current projects. That information will serve as a starting point. Each chat will be short, so the goal is to learn something that you can use as a starting point for future collaborations.

Do I need to prepare anything?

No, but we will reach out to collect the following information:

  • 1-2 sentence description of your research interests and/or current projects

  • A few keywords to describe your expertise

  • A headshot.

We will compile this information into a booklet that you can use to add notes for each person you chat with during the session.

RSVP here by January 20 to indicate your initial interest to participate in this event. Once you RSVP, someone will reach out to you to gather the information outlined above and you will have until February 6 to provide that information.
