Event: Meeting on Academic Staff Role Analysis

Date: May 27, 2025

Time: 2:30pm - 3:00pm

Location: TBD

Description:

NOTE: The meeting below is intended for academic staff, meaning staff who currently work in the academic units and will be within one of the four departments announced earlier this semester.

Dear Colleagues,

As we move forward with our academic restructuring efforts, we’re launching a process to better understand the scope and nature of work happening across our academic staff teams. This initiative will help us take a thoughtful look at how roles, responsibilities, and areas of expertise align with the needs of our emerging departmental structure—and with the goals we’re all working toward together.

We are beginning with a short kickoff meeting on Tuesday, May 27.   I hope you’ll join us as we walk through the purpose of this effort, what to expect, and how your input will directly inform our planning.

Staff Role Analysis Kickoff
Tuesday, May 27
2:30-3:00 PM

[An Outlook Meeting Invitation will be sent shortly.]

Here’s a quick look at what’s ahead:

  • Phase 1 (Late May-Mid June): A survey to gather information about the tasks you manage, how you spend your time, and what aligns with your interests and strengths.
  • Phase 2 (July): Follow-up interviews or focus groups to explore themes more deeply.
  • Phase 3 (July): Review of existing data to provide a fuller picture.

We’re asking all academic staff to complete the survey and stay engaged as the process moves forward. Please know that your individual responses will be kept confidential and reviewed only by the project team. This work is about understanding—not evaluating—so we can build a structure that reflects the great work you’re already doing and help us move forward with clarity and alignment.

Thank you in advance for your time and insight. I look forward to seeing you on May 27.

With appreciation,

Ingrid
