Counseling and Development Program Social Justice Action Projects/Courses

The Counseling and Development Program students are asked to participate in several service learning projects in the community that involve working with underrepresented groups who lack access to resources. For example students in the Career Counseling course (EDCD610), as part of their classroom assignments, provide career counseling services to homeless populations, substance abusing mothers, previously incarcerated adults, and alternative high school youth. In addition, our doctoral level courses include an Advanced Internship in Social Justice, and Advanced Internship in Multicultural, and an Advanced Multicultural Counseling course.
