Appointment Policies:

Prior to your initial advising appointment:

  • Create an Endorsement Account online at https://cehd.gmu.edu/endorse. This is required for all teaching areas except Special Education and Health and Physical Education. Follow the steps listed to create and complete your Endorsement form for the area you wish to teach.
  • Once you have created your form and entered your relevant coursework, please email (endorse@gmu.edu) or fax (703-993-2082) your undergraduate transcripts to the Endorsement Specialist for review. Transcripts must include grades for all coursework.

Appointments with the undergraduate Pre-Education Advisor are typically 30 minutes in length. During the initial advising appointment, we will explore different pathways to licensure based on individual needs.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment:

Please do so as soon as possible so we may offer that time to another student. You may cancel or reschedule directly from your appointment confirmation e-mail if it is 24 hours prior to your appointment start time. If less than 24 hours, please contact us via phone (703-993-2080) or e-mail (preteach@gmu.edu) as soon as possible to cancel or reschedule.

Walk-Ins:

While we try to keep our calendars open so that students can meet with us as needed, we understand you may have a quick question or an urgent need. In that case, please call our office at 703-993-2080 to see if we have availability for a same-day appointment. You are welcome to drop by our office, but just note that we may be booked with other student appointments and may not be able to accommodate you.
