School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism - George Mason University

The School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism (SRHT) offers exciting, career-ready majors in dynamic fields such as athletic training, tourism and events management, health and physical education, kinesiology, sport management, and recreation management. SRHT features renowned faculty, cutting-edge research, six laboratories and centers, and a diverse student body of more than 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students each year. Sheryl Fahey is Region 4 T/TAC Early Childhood Coordinator and represents the T/TAC at GMU on the Early Childhood Priority Project. Sheryl's area of expertise and interest is in building inclusive options for preschoolers. Sheryl retired from Fairfax County Public Schools in 2006 where she served as administrator for the Preschool Child Find/Resource Program in addition to having been an administrator for the preschool class-based program. Prior to that, she was an educational diagnostician/speech/language clinician on a special education preschool diagnostic evaluation team, assessing children two through five years of age. Sheryl received her B.S. from Syracuse University and her M.A. from George Washington University. Additionally, she has taken post-graduate course work at the University of Virginia, majoring in speech pathology with an emphasis in early childhood special education. She has Virginia state endorsements in Administration/Elementary Principal, Preschool Special Education and Speech/Language Disorders.
