Kristien Zenkov Receives 2015 University Teaching Excellence Award

Congratulations to Kristien Zenkov, a recipient of George Mason University's 2015 Teaching Excellence Award.

The prestigious award, presented each year by the university's Center for Teaching and Faculty Excellence, honors outstanding teaching, particularly the significant work that faculty members devote to course planning and preparation; curriculum development; and innovative teaching, advising, and undergraduate and graduate mentoring.

Zenkov, an associate professor in the Graduate School of Education, is one of eight faculty members honored this year. Zenkov's research and teaching interests are focused on urban teacher education, social justice education, professional development schools, and language arts pedagogy and curriculum standards.
