The event will be held at Hylton High School in Woodbridge, Virginia. Registration is at 9 am and the walk is at 10 am. Raffle items and the 50/50 winner will be announced at noon.

The event is free and untimed. Runners are welcome. For additional information about the event:

Up to 3,000 participants are expected at the walk, which is dedicated to the memory of Kyle R. Wilson.

Kyle was a member of Fire Station 12 who served until tragically losing his life while fighting an early morning, three-alarm house fire in Woodbridge on April 16, 2007. He was the first firefighter in Prince William County to lose his life in the line of duty.

The Mason Community Remembers

Kyle graduated from George Mason University with a BS in Athletic Training in 2005.

“Kyle was one of our best students and someone I knew very well,” said Shane Caswell, associate professor of athletic training and director of the Sports Medicine Assessment Research and Testing Laboratory. "He was always very active and interested in health and fitness and in dedicating his professional life to the service of others."

Proceeds from the Kyle Wilson Walk will support a scholarship fund at Mason's School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism.
