Description:

Structure of linear spaces and the operator algebra, duality, invariants, Jordan and singular value decompositions, spectral theorem. Rigorous derivation of foundational data science/artificial intelligence (AI) methods such as PCA, MDS, and SVM. Computational and analytic assignments are given. Offered by Mathematics. Limited to three attempts.
Recommended Prerequisite: MATH 322 or equivalent and basic programming experience.
Registration Restrictions:

Enrollment limited to students with a class of Advanced to Candidacy, Graduate, Junior Plus, Non-Degree or Senior Plus.

Students in a Non-Degree Undergraduate degree may not enroll.
