Internships and Practicum

    • Each program requires internship hours to be completed in order to fulfill licensure requirements.

Application Deadlines

Applications will NOT be accepted after the posted deadlines.

    • Fall and Summer: February 15th
    • Fall On-the-Job: May 1
    • Summer On-the-Job (Special Ed/ECSE Only): May 1
    • Spring: September 15th
    • Spring On-the-Job: December 1

On-the-Job Internship Procedures

    1. Download the On-the-job application
    2. Complete entire application and have your principal/director sign
    3. Make an appointment with your adviser and obtain their signature
    4. Deliver two completed internship packets with both signatures to Lauren Clark, Field Placement Specialist (FPS) in Robinson A 308
    5. You will receive written notification of your approval or denial of the On-the-Job internship K-12 programs still must have two internship experiences one in elementary and one in secondary

Application Procedures for Students Seeking Placement

    • Download the application appropriate for your program
    • Print 4 copies of your application and supporting documentation
    • Make an appointment with your adviser and obtain their signature
    • Deliver 4 completed internship packets to Lauren Clark, Field Placement Specialist (FPS) in Robinson A 308

Arlington County Applicants

Students applying to Arlington County MUST include the Arlington County Application along with your Internship Application.

    • Internship manuals tell you all of the requirements for your internship experience. It is MANDATORY that you read your endorsement program’s manual before you begin your internship experience.
