Profile

Kay Klein is the Assistant Director for the Virginia Department of Education Training and Technical Assisatnce Center(T/TAC): Region 4.   She believes that teachers, administartors and parents share a common goal to help students increase their academic outcomes, improve positive relationships, and develop qualities and skills that lead to a succesful and satisfying life. Her areas of interest are Effective Schoolwide Discipline (ESD) and the Instuctional Priority Project for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities(IPPSCD) and she serves as a member of these statewide VDOE priority projects. Kay received her B.A. in Special Education from Furman University and her M.Ed. in Education from Marymount University with endorsements in learning disabilities, mental retardation and emotional disturbance. Prior to working at T/TAC, Kay was a behavioral consultant for the Intensive Behavior Management Project for the Department of Mental Health and Hygiene in Maryland, consultant for the Arlington Community Services Board and Arlington County Public Schools, worked in the public schools for five years and began her career as at the Northern Virginia Training Center.
