Prior to coming to GMU, Dr. Pfoutz has 30 years with the Arlington Public Schools. While there she held positions ranging from secondary social studies teacher, through 2 assistant principalships, and Assistant Director of Adult Education (including responsibility for the High School Continuation Program. She spent her last 4 years in Arlington as the Supervisor of Staff Development.

Dr. Pfoutz has been involved with the Education Leadership Program for over 7 years. She taught as an adjunct in the program and helped design, recruit, and coordinate participants for Arlington’s administrative training program..Since coming to GMU she has been involved in restructuing the Ed Leadership program and piloted the revised courses. She is also working with the group which is designing a leadership center for administrators in the Northern Virginia area.
