Learning to Kayak at Mason

April 22, 2013

Intrepid Mason students are having fun and learning something new this spring as part of a two-credit course on kayaking.

The course is one of more than 50 one-credit or more courses offered each semester by the Physical Activity for Lifetime Wellness program. Available to all students, faculty, and staff at George Mason University, the courses range from the traditional (like yoga, pilates, soccer, and karate) to the adventurous (such as snowboarding, rock climbing, and pistol marksmanship) to the intriguing (like underwater hockey and krav maga). Most courses are geared toward beginners and meet for half a semester.

Download a flyer or see the list of courses on the web at rht.gmu.edu/programs/palw/courses.

Life vests on and listening to the instructor!

Is the hardest part staying in one place...

or learning to stand?

The scenery is beautiful on the C&O Canal outside of the Watergate,...

in front of Theodore Roosevelt Island,...

and within view of the Washington Monument.
