Four CEHD Advisors Receive Mason Advisor Certificate

February 12, 2014

CEHD advisors take their job seriously! Four of them recently completed a voluntary Mason training program to learn how to provide the best service possible for students.

Congratulations and well done to Stephanie Zeher, Catriona Wardlaw, and Mary Slone – advisors in the Student and Academic Affairs Office in the College of Education and Human Development – who earned a Mason Advisor Certificate in January. The comprehensive program consists of five modules and three electives offered over the course of a semester that provides information and training on George Mason University's advising approach, policies, procedures, tools, resources, and more.

"As a college, we are very much focused on providing the best advising to students we can," said Ms. Zeher, Student Outreach and Advising Coordinator.

Ms. Zeher is also part of a committee developing an advisor training series focused on the needs of graduate students, with the goal of being particularly helpful to faculty in advising roles.
