Description: You will be introduced to the qualitative approach to research as you undertake an individual school-based project. Drawing on the notion of "action research", the new professionalism calls for a form of research that starts with the participants describing reality as they see it, reflecting on it, and deriving theories and action strategies that are immediately applicable to concrete situations; you will concentrate on understanding and using various research methodologies as you develop innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
