Description: Describes varying characteristics of students labeled with a type of autism who receive special education services. Examines definitions, eligibility criteria, incidence rates, and etiology. Perspectives from students, families, educational, community, and career personnel are described. Prerequisites*: There are no required prerequisites for this course, but it is strongly recommended that students completing the Certificate in Autism complete courses in a specific order. Please refer to your Program of Studies for the recommended sequence of courses if you are completing the Certificate in Autism.
