EDCI 632: Advanced Social Studies Methods for the Elementary Classroom

General Information

Credit hours: 3

Description: Provides advanced study of teaching social studies in elementary education. Uses inquiry, research, and reflection to improve teaching. Emphasizes design and delivery of integrated social studies curriculum centered on knowledge, skills, and dispositions from history, geography, civics and economics, arts and humanities, and multicultural education. Covers student assessment and using student data in instructional decision-making and improvement.

Prerequisites
Completion of elementary education (PK-6) licensure, and EDCI 631.

Notes
Requires extensive field experience in public schools.
