Description: Prerequisite: admission to elementary education licensure program. Provides research-based introduction to literacy teaching and learning for younger children. Emphasizes language development; reading and writing processes; emergent literacy; culture, families, and literacy; and literacy integration in the curriculum. Requires school-based field experience.
